Activities
8th Grade Mural Makers
Each year, interested 8th graders have the opportunity to design and
carry out a new art project. This art club has been in existence for three years.
The first year, the students made three large glass mosaics incorporating science themes.
This project was funded through a Greater Cincinnati Foundation Grant.
These mosaics are located in the science lab. The following year, students designed
and painted a large mural entitled “Little Flower Shines” on a cafeteria wall,
and in fact finished it during their summer break. Last year, another mural
was painted in the Kennedy Technology Center incorporating a spoofy space theme.
This year, they will be painting another mural outside of the cafeteria embracing a “healthy eating” theme.
Students do not have to have art expertise in order to participate.
If anyone has any colorful wall paint that they are interested in donating, please bring to room 7.

The BFG—the Butterfly Garden Club
This club was originally an adjunct the Student Council, but this year,
it will be flying with its own four wings. Students must be in grades 4-8.
Several students have taken on the task of beautifying the butterfly garden.
We will be raising money to add new plants, mosaic paving stones, buy mulch and dirt,
and to buy a bench for a sitting area. If anyone is interested in donating “splits” of their plants
or an old bench or chair for the sitting area, please contact Mrs. Ogg or Mrs. Renick.
